Six Months to Six Figures: Reflections

Yesterday I watched the Creative Live broadcast by Peter Voogd – “Six Months to Six Figures“. Most of the things he was talking about were not new and had been addressed by the productivity community, many times over.

But, knowing something doesn’t automatically translate into taking action on that something. And personally, I tend to consume information without reflecting on it or taking any action. So the talk was inspiring and there were a few things that I want to incorporate into my life.

App Building Process: From Concept to Launch

I have been working on building up my main business for the past four months, since November 2015. The idea is to build a web app in the health and nutrition space.

Meal Planning Food Salad Healthy Vegetables

My target audience are people who are interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle but don’t have enough motivation to conduct any serious research in the field, neither  do they have time to cook complicated meals that are often recommended by the natural health community.

How I Create Websites with a Press of a Button

It’s Monday afternoon, only 4 days till Christmas, and I am sitting at my desk with a glass of beer and setting up a website for one of my friend’s countless web initiatives. Suddenly I come to a realization that I have done this dozen of times. Although I am very green as an entrepreneur, I have been around in the web sphere for many years, and, as a result, have created multiple websites myself, and even more for various friends and clients.

Anytime I have an idea, I am able to have a website representing it in a matter of minutes. Not every idea is a successful one, and having a great website obviously requires a lot of work, but the fact that you can go from zero to one (or from an idea in your head to an online representation of said idea) in no time is very liberating.

If you are an aspiring entrepreneur, one of the first things that you need to get sorted is your online presence. And the work of creating a website should not be an unnecessary burden between your idea and the world.

Pinterest Growing Like a Flower

Growing My Pinterest Following: 5 Months Update

Back in June, I put all of my social media efforts into one platform: Pinterest. Instead of spreading myself thin and trying to catch up with all major social networks, I picked one that would, presumably, give me the best return on the invested time.

I initiated a massive attack which mainly translated into me following loads of users. Every day, I would search for potential users to follow, and followed them until I reached the daily following limit that Pinterest has wisely put on this fun activity. Then I would rinse and repeat the next day. This was about 5 months ago.

Minimal Living: My Personal Story

If I would try to describe the three months that passed since my last post in one word, it would be “reborn”. It may sound a bit extreme, and the word carries both positive and negative meaning. The first month after I quit my day job was filled with excitement, which made me push very hard, eager to do all the things that I was dreaming of doing while I was working full time, but didn’t have the time and energy to do. I was on cloud nine, full of energy coming from the adrenaline rush.

Friday night, red wine

3 Weeks Have Passed Since I Quit My Day Job

It’s Friday night, and 3 weeks have passed since I quit my day job. As I sit here at my desk with a glass of red wine, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on the journey so far. Although the routine has settled in a little, and I am not all euphoric and ecstatic all the time, on a scale of one to ten I feel like, eh, 17…
