This is my simplified version of the weekly master plan, based on Peter Voogd’s presentation at Creative Live.
Category: Productivity Tools
Yesterday I watched the Creative Live broadcast by Peter Voogd – “Six Months to Six Figures“. Most of the things he was talking about were not new and had been addressed by the productivity community, many times over.
But, knowing something doesn’t automatically translate into taking action on that something. And personally, I tend to consume information without reflecting on it or taking any action. So the talk was inspiring and there were a few things that I want to incorporate into my life.
Journaling is often associated with our personal life, something we do privately for ourselves. We keep a journal by our bedside and indulge in our frustrations, fears and desires. Writing in a journal can be seen as therapy for the soul: it helps us reflect on our daily lives, calm us down and bring clarity.
I’ll admit it: I haven’t read a book in years. Ever since the Internet became an essential part of my life, I haven’t touched a real book. I don’t even have a bookshelf. The few books that I own from my childhood are stored in my closet.
Lack of time should never be an excuse for clutter. If you sit at a desk cluttered with stuff and covered in dust, typing on a dirty keyboard, your mind will feel cluttered too, you won’t be able to focus on your work and your productivity will be at the bottom.
Use this routine to get a clean and organized desk in 5 minutes. It can be used daily to quick start your work, and should be combined with a more serious desk organization session when you get more time and inspiration. The point of this routine is to quickly get your desk ready for a productive work session, without stealing too much time.
You may wonder how Amazon Prime can be a productivity tool, but it has actually been a huge time saver for me since I started using it last Christmas. It all started during those stressful days just before the Holidays, when I realized that I have zero time to go look for presents. This is when I turned to the Internet, and started with Amazon since it’s reliable and has the largest selection of anything you can think of.
