Natural ways to wake up
Our body is designed to wake up with the sunrise and go to sleep at dusk. The brain receives the gradually rising morning light and starts the wake-up process. By waking up naturally, we feel more energetic and fresh during the day. It is also much easier to get up when the room is well-lit by the morning light.
If you need to wake up before the sunrise, or live in a climate where the light intensity is very low during the winter time, you are forcing your body to wake up in a complete darkness of the night. This makes waking up extremely difficult, and leads to you feeling tired during the rest of the day.
When was the last time you went to sleep at sunset? Going to bed when the sun goes down is no longer part of our daily routines. However, this is exactly how our bodies had been designed.
By extending your days with artificial light, you break your natural sleep habits and sacrificing your sleep. Sleep deprivation has a negative effect on your day-to-day live.
You can restore balanced and healthy sleep habits by reducing the light intensity in the evening, and getting a good light exposure in the morning.
Dim the lights during the few hours before the bedtime. If you sit at your computer or a TV, make sure to reduce the brightness of the screen.

Wake up light
30 minutes before your wake up time, the light alarm clock will gradually increase the light to signal to your body that the sun is rising. The color of the light will go from soft dawn reds through warm orange to bright yellow light, giving you a warm and pleasant feeling of a rising sun. You can choose from several light intensities from the light alarm clock.
Wake up sound
At the time of the alarm, the light alarm clock will play a natural sound to accompany your waking up experience. Choose from the sound of woodland morning, ocean shore, lake loon, zen garden, or slow piano. Radio, or your favorite song from your iPhone library can be added. The sound will gradually increase in intensity, starting from a very low volume, until it reaches your desired volume.
If you prefer to wake up just with the light, you can completely turn off the sound by setting the volume to zero.
Weekday and weekend alarm
If you want to wake up at different times during the weekdays and weekends (although it is not recommended), you can set different alarms for different days of the week.
Two person alarm
By setting two different alarms, the light alarm clock can be used by two people who want to wake up at different times.
The light alarm clock will simulate a sunset by allowing you to set a sleep timer. It will gradually dim down light.
