I am dancing my victory dance and opening up a bottle of champagne now (virtually) because I tripled my Pinterest followers in less than 24 hours. I applied a simple strategy that doesn’t involve anything complicated and saw immediate results. It may seem trivial and obvious for an experienced marketer, but seeing these results is a big deal for me.

It seems that everyone and their dog are writing e-books, and I am not an exception. The idea to write an e-book was born about a year ago, mainly because I wanted to test my wings at book writing. With online self-publishing tools, it’s very easy to publish a book (or at least an e-book) without having to spend any money at all. You don’t need to find and convince publishers to work with you, and all the promotion can be handled using social media without having to spend a dime. After paying for a number of crappy e-books on Amazon, I thought: “If those people wrote this crap and I paid for it, I can do better than that”.
I have to admit it: discovering Tony Robbins Rapid Planning Method (RPM) was a true revelation. This was my experience after I applied the RPM method to my existing task management system – a system that I thought was quite good and that I spent time building up.
Imagine that you are lost in a foggy forest, and trying to get back to the main road. You hear the sound of moving cars, and you know the road is out there, and you try to follow the sound but it’s deceiving, you are going in circles and getting more and more frustrated. Then the sun goes up, the fog clears out, and suddenly you are standing on a path, and you see that the path leads straight to the main road. A feeling of joy fills you up and you start moving towards the road with steady steps.
One of my tasks for today was to create a daily schedule. I am the type of person who needs a plan. Even if I don’t always follow the plan, just having a plan immediately puts me in a calm state and gives me a sense of control. This is why creating a plan was one of my top tasks for this week.
Content Marketing is an area that I wanted to dig into for quite some time now. Any online business needs to use content marketing to be able to build a relationship with customers. Any move that I do online without having a clear content strategy will risk to fail or at least not be as effective as it could if I used the tactics of content marketing.
Before starting anything major in life, it is always a good idea to take a complete inventory of everything that you have on your plate right now. This exercise helps to make sure that you focus on the right things, and reduces anxiety that comes creeping to remind you that you are forgetting something.
Today I took two inventories: a virtual and a physical.
Last Friday was my last day at my day job. Yes, I did something that is generally considered a bad move: I quit my job before having a stable business that can generate a steady income. Today is Monday, June 1st of 2015, and it is the first day of my new life as an entrepreneur.
Journaling is often associated with our personal life, something we do privately for ourselves. We keep a journal by our bedside and indulge in our frustrations, fears and desires. Writing in a journal can be seen as therapy for the soul: it helps us reflect on our daily lives, calm us down and bring clarity.
I’ll admit it: I haven’t read a book in years. Ever since the Internet became an essential part of my life, I haven’t touched a real book. I don’t even have a bookshelf. The few books that I own from my childhood are stored in my closet.
